Lunchtime Locomotion with Nat King Cono
Thursdays 11 AM - 1 PM; Repeats Tues 1 - 3 PM
Nat King Cono brings you lively and thoughtful music from around the world to get your weekend started. Somewhat nostalgic and always toe tapping, he endeavours to get you moving.
This can include live interviews with locals and visitors who are making a difference. From artists and authors to musicians and politicians, spontaneous discussions are always in the moment and never edited or prerecorded. Nat stays true to the spirit and essence of “live” radio unscripted.

Fundamental to his love of radio is music. “As a musician and keen listener I’m always curious as to who’s doing what and finding a niche to fit into. Often that can mean playing less and listening more.” Collaboration is one of Nat’s greatest delights.
Nat (Greg’s) involvement with CKTZ goes back nearly 15 years and remains a regular routine. The Friday Lunchtime Locomotion is one of the longest regularly running programs dating back to near Cortes Radio’s beginning.
He also served on the station’s Board of Directors for a couple of years in the 90’s acting as Chair. “The opportunities and experiences with Cortes Radio have afforded me so much satisfaction and learning. Just recently, with Season 2 of Deep Roots/Island Waves, a diverse team came together for the first time to create something new and perhaps inspiring, and for me offered opportunities for potential insight and new experiences impossible to anticipate. I feel incredibly grateful.”
In recent times Nat’s involvement has turned to helping Deep Roots year 1 & 2 as a senior producer, assisting story tellers with story development, assembly production and mastering.
